Romanès è la lingua parlata dai Rom. Proveniente dal sanscrito, il termine Rom significa uomo. Nel passato, nell’antica India il termine Rom indicava gli artisti, in particolare i danzatori,
i suonatori di percussioni ed i cantanti, che tramandavano le tradizioni del loro popolo in una lingua più comprensibile del sanscrito. Il brano è introdotto da una delle Danze Rumene di Béla Bartòk (1881-1945), da noi rielaborata. (B. Sorani)
